I love you buddy. You’re the best brother anyone could ever ask for. And you’re probably the coolest 10 year old I know. One of my favorite things about you is how you stand up for people, when you know they’ve done something right. People underestimate your heart and your ability to love. Someday I know you’ll surprise people with how far you go. I know right now you’re struggling, I just want you to know I’m always here for you no matter what. I wish you could read this but tomorrow morning I’ll just give you a hug and tell you how much I love you. I’d do anything for you Jack.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to Ten different people

1. Sorry I stole this from you, you should be used to it because I copy you in many things and steal many things from you. (you do the same…pink earrings, yeah I won’t forget) I think college has changed you more than you think it has. Sometimes I think about how you’re becoming closer to other people and it scares me because I feel more distant to you and less involved in your life. I love you so much and I’m always here for you. You’ve taught me that being independent is one of the most necessary things to be in order to get what you want. We’re so different, yet so alike at the same time…wait no, we aren’t alike at all. We get in fights hourly but we both know how much we love each other. At times I wish we could go back to being the Windemere Road Princesses, riding our razor scooters to our fort every morning. I love you and I wish the best for you. No matter what you do, you’ll always have my support.

2. You’re absolutely crazy. Every time I see you we become so much closer. You’re my favorite cousin, and one of my few best friends. I don’t think many people know how talented you are, and people underestimate you. You’re very powerful and have so much confidence that will bring you far somewhere. I love you gupta

3. We’ve clearly proven that distance does not challenge our friendship. We’re better friends now than we were in eighth grade. I would do anything to have you in Pittsford again. High school has been so hard without you. I’m mad at myself for not keeping in better touch with you than I should. I miss you so much, please come back into my life. I want the best for you and I hope to see you soon. I love you so much

4. I’ve never been mean to a person like I have to you. I’m sorry for all the hurtful things I’ve ever said to you. You’re beautiful and you know it. It’s all jealousy, you’re going far little one. Keep it up and Yale is in your future :)

5. You’re a bitch. All that needs to be said. Oh and you’re an idiot for being so oblivious. I question why I even try being friends with you.

6. Everyone knows how talented you are. I look up to you so much and love telling you stories about my life, and love hearing ones about yours. You mean so much to me, more than you think you do. I hope to always be apart of your life.

7. I try everyday to forgive you, I really do. I question why I cared about you as much as I did. You’ve hurt me so much. You have so much potential, but you’re an ass. Do me a favor and learn how to treat girls right. Never do what you did to me to any other girl. You give me reasons to respect you, but I can’t. Quite frankly I feel bad for you.

8. Every time I see you I can’t help but smile. You light up every room you walk into and everyone is guaranteed to laugh so hard. You surprise me every time I see you with your tech savy ways. We don’t see each other enough, which I really want to change. I love you and your wonderful Italian cooking!

9. I surprised myself with how much I ended up loving you. Your my best friend and I love being with you. Every time I’m down you can easily cheer me up. Thank you for always being there for me. I could never ask for anything better. You’re the only person that I can tell anything to and confidently know you won’t tell anyone else.  At times I think you’re too good to be true…where’s the catch? I wish I met you later in life and not now. I realize that not all things are on our side. I love you.

10. Where do I even start with you. I’ve known you for so long yet I still haven’t figured you out yet. When we aren’t together I feel like we are drifting like crazy but when we’re together I’m reminded how much you mean to me. We need to be friends forever because I don’t know what I’d do without you. Sometimes I think that you don’t think I’m cool enough..but then I remember I know you’re secret…you aren’t cool either. I love ya girl. Oh and you’re effortlessly smart which makes me really jealous. Can we please go back to the days when you read me Harry Potter?

Lets make a toast. To all the new found friendships and those that will always last, the new places to call “home” and the place to always go home to, the opportunities we have been given for new experiences and the experiences we will never forget, for growing up a becoming wiser and for always being young at heart, for the new talents that we’ve been blessed with and for the talents we will always have, but most most importantly let’s raise our glasses to the oncoming year. May we all be blessed with happiness and good health in 2011. I wish everyone the best!

“Hey Hayley” she screamed with her candy-coated voice “Wanna pway fwiend?” I always responded to her question with the quickest “Yes!” you had ever heard. I was always up for playing dolls with Hanna. We were two little brunette sweethearts who played, laughed, cried and fought together. Best-friends is the appropriate word to describe our relationship, but our parents always remind us that we are not friends. Our bond is stronger than that; we are sisters.
It was a brilliant, cloudless day in late-July. The leaves on the trees looked like glimmering emeralds as they swayed back and forth in the warm wind. The smell of chlorine was in the air as Hanna and I scootered down our driveway past our neighbor’s new pool. We continued down the driveway to the end and took at sharp right towards the large oak tree in our front yard. I placed my foot on the brake and turned my head to make sure Hanna was still behind me. I was nine and she was six years old; age was no barrier to the amount of fun and mischief we could achieve. After confirming her presence I continued on up the sidewalk, I found myself breathing heavier as the path steepened. We had finally arrived at our secret spot by way of our sleek, new twin red razor scooters. Our secret spot was not very secret, it was only a row of three pine trees, but it was the closest thing to a fort we had as we lived in the city with little room for tree forts in our almost non-existent back yard. Hanna and I put down our scooters and proceeded to perform our sister shake. We high-fived five times, spun around twice and finished by popping our hip out, raising our right hand and saying “sistaaaa’s”. It was on, Hanna and I were about to escape into another world. At that moment we removed our monogrammed pink and purple knapsacks from our backs and got to work.
One day during a casual game of tackle football with our 12 year old neighbor Alex, he told Hanna and me that there was the world’s coolest playground down the street. He claimed that only the sweetest kids go there and that it had to sets of 15 swings. Since that day Hanna and I had made it our mission to get to the playground. We had asked our parents, but they had been too busy with work and our little sister and brother. They made it very clear not to go to the playground alone. With that thought replaying in our minds, Hanna and I simultaneously reached into our backpacks and extracted 1 sheet of pink construction paper, 3 crayons, and 2 minute-maid juice boxes. We were always up for adventure. This one was one for the books.
After slurping up the last of our juice we deserted our scooters at our play place. We had our paper and crayon in hand and we mapped our way to the park. Through trial and error and many wrong crayon lines on our paper we finally found the way. A left at our driveway, a right onto Newcastle, and a left onto Browncroft brought Hanna and I to the most stunning pieces of painted metal and plastic a child could have ever laid eyes on.

I'm a preppy girl with currently lives in the Northeast, I say currently because my hopes are to go to school in the South, and later raise a family there. Fruit, sushi and Panda Paws ice cream are my three favorite foods. I have many friends, but only three that I truly trust. Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places in the entire world..besides Paris, France.
